Mon, 29 Jun 2026

In Episode 121 of the BoxTrick Podcast, we shift our focus to the legendary Nintendo 64, revisiting some of the console’s most beloved classics while discussing why the N64 remains one of the most influential systems ever released.

This episode, we lace up the skates for Wayne Gretzky’s 3D Hockey, one of the most over-the-top arcade sports games of its generation. With lightning-fast gameplay, huge hits, and pure multiplayer chaos, we discuss why it’s still one of the most fun hockey games ever made.

Next, we hit the track with Diddy Kong Racing, the kart racer that dared to challenge Mario Kart by introducing an adventure mode, multiple vehicle types, and a surprisingly ambitious single-player campaign. We break down what made it so unique and why many fans still consider it one of Rare’s greatest games.

Of course, no Nintendo 64 discussion would be complete without Mario Party 2. We look back at the game that perfected Nintendo’s party formula with unforgettable minigames, iconic boards, and the kind of friendships it may or may not have ended along the way.

We also revisit The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask, one of Nintendo’s darkest and most ambitious adventures. From its haunting atmosphere and unforgettable three-day time loop to its incredible side quests and emotional storytelling, we discuss why it remains one of the most unique games Nintendo has ever created.

And before wrapping up, we share our full review of the brand-new Star Fox 64 Remake on the Nintendo Switch 2. We discuss what Nintendo got right, how faithfully it modernizes the N64 classic, the stunning visual upgrade, and where we’d love to see the Star Fox franchise go next.

Whether you’re a lifelong Nintendo 64 fan, a Rare enthusiast, or simply someone who loves revisiting gaming’s greatest classics, Episode 121 is packed with nostalgia, discussion, and appreciation for one of Nintendo’s greatest generations.

BoxTrick Ep. 117 – Mandalorian and Grogu Review

Tue, 26 May 2026

In this episode of the BoxTrick Podcast, we give our full review of The Mandalorian & Grogu… and honestly? We had an absolute blast with it.

Despite some critics giving the film mixed reviews, we genuinely think they completely missed the point. This movie wasn’t trying to reinvent cinema — it was trying to be a fun, exciting Star Wars adventure on the big screen again… and it absolutely succeeds at that.

From the action and visuals to the chemistry between Mando and Grogu, this felt like the kind of crowd-pleasing summer blockbuster Star Wars has been missing for a long time. And while the movie definitely plays things a little safe at times, it still delivers exactly what a lot of fans have been wanting: classic Star Wars fun.

We break down what worked, our favorite moments, where the movie fits into the larger Star Wars universe, and why we think audiences are connecting with it way more than critics are.

If you’ve been waiting for Star Wars to feel like a big theatrical event again… this might finally be it.
